Belgian Championship

Johan Nuyts is the first Belgian champion

The first Belgian Carcassonne Championship was played on Sunday 2 April 2006, organised by Catan Vlaanderen, the group behind the Flemish Catan championship. Twenty players took part, and Johan Nuyts (obiwonder) became the first Belgian champion, ahead of Danny Coenen, Frederik De Lie and Bert De Norre.

The title came with Belgium's place at the first Carcassonne World Championship, at the SPIEL fair in Essen in October 2006, where Johan finished ninth; Christophe Lambert also played for Belgium and finished 12th. Full results.
